Orange man not needed for quick voting

Labour Party leader Chris Hipkins says people don’t need to wait for their EasyVote packs to cast an early vote.
The Electoral Commission says most enrolled voters should have received their packs by the end of the week.
Mr Hipkins says early voting numbers seem to be down on the 2020 election, which could indicate the large number of undecided voters out there.
But people don’t need their EasyVote card to vote.
“You can just walk in, you don’t need any for of identification either, you can walk in, you can give them your name and you should be able to vote. If you’re not on the roll you can enrol at the same time at the polling booth so make sure you go to the polling booth. everyone has the right to vote and it’s really important that they do,” Mr Hipkins says.
He says the Electoral Commission is working to resolve from Maori about their negative experiences in previous elections.
