Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei has imposed a rāhui across the Waitematā because of untreated sewage running directly into the Waitematā Harbour.

The sewage is coming from a 13-metre sinkhole that was created a large sewer main in Parnell collapsed.
Watercare says it will take 10 days to clear the blockage of 25 metres of debris.
The rāhui will mean the postponement of the Iron Māori triathlon, which was already in doubt because of poor weather conditions.
