Māori dairy farmed urged to show best moves


Entries are open for the 2024 Ahuwhenua Trophy.
This time the it’s highlighting Māori excellence in dairy farming.
Nukuhia Hadfield, the chair of the awards management committee, says they give Māori farmers, land trusts and other organisations the opportunity to showcase their stories with their whenua and kararehe.
“One thing with farming and growing is that your continual improvement because actually, we are working with animals and plants and stuff that continually change, and with a climate that continually changes. You just don’t say still,” she says
Nominations close on December 8 with finalist announced in late February 2024 and the winner will be announced at a gala dinner in May.
