Pledge card fuels door knock campaign

National Party leader Christopher Luxon is feeling a wave of enthusiasm as the election campaign gets into full gear.
Mr Luxon launched the campaign on Sunday with the release of a pledge card rather than a fully fledged manifesto.
It promises lower inflation, economic growth, tax cuts, roads, fixing crime including boot camps for young offenders. lifting school achievement and cutting health waiting times.
He says supporters are fired up.
“We’ve got enthusiasm happening in places, that we previously haven’t seen before. We’ve got lots of signs happening in big red seats we’ve not seen before. We’ve got a great reaction out door knocking. We’ve got a fantastic set of candidates who’ve been door knocking for months and months and months,” Mr Luxon says.
