Election no time for race baiting

Hauraki-Waikato MP Nanaia Mahuta says race baiting by ACT and New Zealand First has to stop.

She says the way that could happen is for National to tell its potential coalition partners it won’t tolerate the strategy – but it won’t.

“So they are benefiting form this narrative that’s being put out. It’s unhealthy. It’s not good for New Zealand and Maori have said as recently as the Koroneihana, stop making Maori the political football of election campaigns,” she says.

Nanaia Mahuta says Labour wants the election to be fought on issues and policies rather than picking off minorities.
