Kerekere leaves on high note
Rainbow activist Elizabeth Kerekere says she walks away from Parliament with her head held high – and the support of her community.
In her valedictory speech last night, the former Green MP called out Greens co-leaders Marama Davidson and James Shaw for going to the media rather than coming to her over allegations of bullying.
She says the attacks have continued since she left the party.
“I walk out with my head high. All the communities I work for, all the people I have connected with like Te Waimana Kaaku, like operation Patiki at Kohupatiki Marae, they all came to my valedictory last night, they spoke at my farewell event. All of them measure me by what I do, not by what other people have to say about me,” Dr Kerekere says.
