Tem Far North nemesis for bumbling smugglers
Actor Temuera Morrison says it was great to get a chance to do some home-grown filming.
His latest work, the six-part series Far North, starts tonight on TV3.
Morrison and Robyn Malcolm co-star as an Ahipara couple who foil the efforts of Hong Kong drug gangs and their Tongan-Australian minions to land $500-million dollars worth of methamphetine on the notoriously dangerous 90-Mile Beach.
Morrison says what stood out for him about the 2016 case was the ineptitude of the criminals.
“No-one knew really how to drive the boat. No-one knew really about some of the tides, and how the tide goes out, and the tide comes in again – even driving the boat. So, within the serious drama there is a tinge of humour just in the way it unfolds,” he says.
Temuera Morrison says he’s been working in his home town Rotorua on another project is due out next year, but most of his work is now based overseas.
