Open source registry to track NZ long Covid

A registry has been opened to collect data on New Zealanders experiencing long Covid.
Ngapera Riley from Figure.NZ, is a charitable trust focused on making publicly available data accessible and comprehensible, says it’s a collaboration between the trust, University of Auckland researchers and Long Covid Support Aotearoa.
Collecting the data is the first step in assessing the size of the problem and coming up with some Aotearoa-centric responses.
“That could be hundreds of thousands of people who don’t even know they might have not recovered so we are really keen to get this out there. We want to support people suffering like this and we want to make sure doctors and everyone else understand it too,” Ms Riley says.
