Mahuta stays off list for election fight
Hauraki Waikato MP Nanaia Mahuta says staying off the party list is a challenge for the voters to get out for a Labour-led Government.
Ms Mahuta says she’s not taking the seat she’s held for 24 years for granted, and she’s standing on the record of Labour moving the dial significantly for Maori over the past six years.
“I’m not complacent about the vote in Hauraki-Waikato. I’m saying to the electorate we need a Labour Government. I don’t want to see an ACT-led National Government. That will take us backwards. In fact it will take us back to 1860, I’m sure of it,” she says.
