A 12 year old's performance of a Kiwi Christmas song has won experienced songwriters Lavina Williams and Mark Casey the top price at the APRA 2023 Children’s Music Awards.

A 12 year old’s performance of a Kiwi Christmas song has won experienced songwriters Lavina Williams and Mark Casey the top price at the APRA 2023 Children’s Music Awards.

Jaya says she loves the message for whānau in the song, Aotearoa Sun.

“I’m just so grateful for the opportunity to even be nominated and I’m very grateful to have beautiful nominees and it’s so cool we were even nominated,” Jaya says.
