Coralus women’s fund self-sustaining

It’s International Women’s Day, and an international network that supports ventures founded by wāhine and non-binary entrepreneurs says its New Zealand arm can now stand alone.
Founder and CEO Vicki Saunders says since it launched in Aotearoa five years ago Coralus has supported 25 ventures led by wahine and created a perpetual fund of $1.3 million in circulation, which should allow it support at least five ventures per year.
Almost a third of the ventures are led by women of colour.
Businesses helped include Beany, Chia Sisters, Better Packaging and Hello Period.
Business leader Theresa Gatting, who brought Coralus to Aotearoa, says she will now hand over the leadership baton.
