Volunteers motivated as flood clean up drags on

Boxer turned food box filler Dave Letele says the city would be in real trouble in the aftermath of last week’s floods if not for volunteers.

His Buttabean Motivation ropu is one of the community groups who have pitched in to clean up and supply essentials to those in need.

“If it wasn’t for the volunteers who are out there from day one, we’d bein troubk. They literally jumped to thef orefront and got to work. A lot of their homes have been affected by floods. A lot of their families have been affevted, but they are there helping day in and day out. it really is amazing to see,” Mr Letele says.

When the clean up is done people will need furniture, fridges and other appliances, and he’s focusing on getting donations from the public and business to make this happen.
