Jackson talk as Seymour squares off

Maori Development Minister Willie Jackson says he’s not changing his choice of words to appease David Seymour.
The ACT leader has raised the alarm about Mr Jackson telling iwi chairs that Māori will get ‘thrown under the bus, crushed and killed’ under a National-ACT government,’ saying that kind of talk is violent, divisive, unnecessary, and offensive.
Mr Jackson says he was obviously talking metaphorically, but the threat to Maori aspirations is real.
“Seymour’s so desperate he puts out idiot press releases saying ‘Look at the language Willie Jackson is using. He wnts to kill us. What a load of rubbish. He know I’m talking about aspiratiins,” he says.
Mr Jackson says David Seymour is on a campaign to reinvent history, ignore laws and judges and attack the Treaty of Waitangi to win votes.
