Rahui as search continues for missing boy
Manukau iwi have placed a rāhui on water-based activities on parts of the Manukau Harbour where the search continues for a 10-year-old boy.
The boy went missing after a boat capsized off Clarks Beach on Sunday afternoon.
Two people on the boat swam to shore when the tide turned and raised the alarm, one person was rescued from the water, and one drowned.
Police were conducting aerial searches today.
They say the rāhui is in place until next Tuesday.
It extends across the areas of Ngāti Te Ata, Ngāti Tamaoho, Te Ākitai Waiohua and Te Ahiwaru, and includes the Oruarangi river and the channel between Puketutu Island and Puketāpapa.
