Māori welcome on UK free trade roashow
Māori businesses are being encouraged to get along to next week’s UK Free Trade roadshow.
Dale Stephens, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise’s director of Maori partnerships, says the free trade agreement will open up huge opportunities for business once it’s concluded next year.
The roadshow in Dunedin on Monday, Christchurch on Tuesday, Auckland Wednesday and Thursday, and Wellington Friday will explain what assistance is available to get into the UK market.
“What we are doing alongside that, we are also running separate break-out sessions at all for any Maori businesses who are interested at some stage in the future considering their goods and services being exported to the UK, we would love to talk to them. We already have about 330 Maori exporters we work with but we know there are a number more in that start up stage just exploring what the opportunities might look like,” Mr Stephens says.
Aa Maori trade delegation could be the first to go to the UK once the agreement is ratified early next year.
