Men’s netballer’s draw on Māori side for inspiration

The New Zealand men’s netball team was trounced 48-64 by Australia last night, but a spokesperson says the players are determined to make amends in the remaining game of the trans-Tasman series.
Cameron van Baarle says they’ll draw on the influence of Maori, who make up about half the players.
“It’s a really important part of who we are as a team, it flows through the culture, it’s represented in our uniform as something that’s really important to us,” he says.
The two teams meet again in Melbourne on October 19 in a curtain raiser for the third Constellation Cup match.
