Waipareira head John Tamihere has told media outlet Stuff to get stuffed over its coverage of donations by the trust to his political campaigns.
The story rehashed material published a week ago by the New Zealand herald, which was taken down after a complaint from Mr Tamihere.
He says Te Whānau o Waipareira is a private concern managed by an elected governance group, and it is not the business of the media how it participates in the political process as long as it does so legally, openly and honestly.
Mr Tamihere released correspondence with Charities Services on efforts over the past two years to arrange a meeting to discuss the donations.
If the regulator makes a finding against Waipareira, the trust intends to challenge it in the High Court.
