Tauihu iwi review Covid response

Iwi and Māori health providers in the top of the South Island want to know what gaps there may have been in their Covid response.
They’ve commissioned Maori health researcher Melissa Cragg to lead a project looking at the experiences of whanau through the pandemic.
Dr Cragg says the study will be a snapshot in time and is reliant on those whānau who choose to take part.
Things that could be covered include financial impacts through lost income or reduced work hours at work; mental health impacts; and access to services and support.
It will also look at conflicting views within whānau regarding vaccination.
Lorraine Eade, the operations manager for Te Kotahi o Te Tauihu Trust, says the purpose of the research is to do better.
