Ngāti Whātua developing Massey Albany campus site

Ngāti Whātua subsidiary Ngā Maunga Whakahii o Kaipara Whenua Hoko Holdings is teaming up with Fletcher Living to build more than 160 homes in Albany.
The 9.7-hectare site for the Ōkahukura development formed part of the Massey University Albany Campus and is situated along Albany Highway close to transport links, and retail outlets.
Fletcher Building chief executive Steve Evans says the two companies have been working together since 2016 when they entered a strategic partnership to develop the Te Uru residential precinct at Hobsonville Point.
Ngā Maunga Whakahii chief executive Daniel Clay says having an equal say in governance and management allows Ngati Whatua to express its values as mana whenua.
Once completed, the development will comprise a mix of standalone homes, terrace houses and multi-dwelling units, as well as a rejuvenated wetland area.
