The Māori Party has endorsed Tuteri Rangihaeata for South Taranaki District Council.
It’s the party’s second foray into this year’s local body elections, after earlier supporting Toi Iti for Bay of Plenty Regional Council.
Mr Rangihaeata is a business owner and communications specialist.
He’s standing in the Te Tai Tonga Māori ward.
Party co-leader and former South Taranaki councillor Debbie Ngarewa Packer says he may best be known as Dalvanius Prime’s nephew and was a strong advocate for the making of the Poi E documentary.
