Filipaina back for last run
Manukau ward councillor Alf Filipaina says he’s standing one last time for Auckland Council.
Nominations for October’s local body elections open today.
The former community constable has held the seat since the super city merger in 2010, after earlier serving on Manukau City Council.
He told Radio Waatea talk host Merepeka Raukawa-Tait it’s a job he’s put his heart and soul into.
“That will be my last term if I get in. If I’m elected that will be my last three years and then it’s just time and bring someone else along that can fill your spot,” Mr Filipaina says.
