Weather should allow Matariki glimpse

Tomorrow morning may be your best chance to view the Matariki star cluster before cloudy conditions settle in over the weekend.
The National Institute for Water and Atmosphere has prepared cloud coverage forecasts for the next week.
Spokesperson Nava Fedaeff says tonight is relatively clear for most of the country, although cloud cover will start to build around Tamaki Makaurau.
“You may still get a glimpse Friday morning but then we’ve got clouds increasing through the day Friday and there is some rain that is meant to come through mostly overnight into Saturday morning, clearing up in the daytime which is a good thing and a few showers around on Sunday as well,” she says.
Nava Fedaeff says the best places to see the Matariki cluster over the long weekend will be on the eastern side of both islands.
