Tua knocks out hall of fame spots

The Minister for Pacific Peoples, Aupito William Sio, is celebrating the induction of David Tua into boxing halls of fame in the United States.
The Samoan-born New Zealand heavyweight fought many of the best boxers of his era, including a world title challenge against Lennox Lewis in 2000 that went 12 rounds.
He finished his professional career with 52 wins including 43 by knockout, 5 losses and two draws.
He was inducted into the Los Angeles Boxing Hall of Fame in April and the Florida Boxing Hall of Fame last weekend.
Mr Sio says it’s a further testament to the mana of Tua, who now runs an Auckland gym.
“Really pleased for him and to see him able to be in Florida is a big deal and I know many of our young people will look up to him, will be inspired by that,” Mr Sio says.
