Taylor doctorate a team tohu

Māori entrepreneur and technical innovator Sir Ian Taylor says his honorary doctorate should be seen as a recognition for all the team at Animation Research.
Otago University will grant Sir Ian the honorary doctorate in commerce at a graduation ceremony on Saturday, recognising his contribution to business and to Dunedin.
He says he never thought about running a business, and it was more a matter of bringing a great group of people together and enabling their ideas.
“What makes me really proud is the Otago university students who started this company with me back in 1990 are still with me and this is really as much a recognition of them as it is me because I could not have done any of this without them,” Sir Ian says
As well as giving television viewers new ways to understand the sport, his team was able to use the technology for projects such as the animations for visitors centres at Aoraki / Mt Cook and Whale Watch Kaikoura and the Māori creation story animation for the Rugby World Cup.
