Whānau Ora Continues To Prove Its Value Through Our SROI’s.
Since we were established eight years ago it has always been our goal to support whānau and once again we have proven our worth with our latest pilot, Te Kete Aronui, another Social Return on Investment programme.
Through our collaboration with Te Pūtea Whakatupu we have proven that our way of educating tamariki, specifically in Literacy and Numeracy, quite simply, works. And not only that, it clearly and unfortunately demonstrates beyond reasonable doubt that the current system is failing our young people.
Te Kete Aronui was executed throughout our Whānau Ora network in an environment that immersed tamariki in their Māori culture, while catering to their needs at a pace that kept them engaged.
Within these partnerships and the commissioning framework we have managed to develop innovative and whānau-centered activities that have changed the lives of countless whānau. One of the crucial components of powerful commissioning for whānau outcomes is understanding the impact these investments create.
Whānau Ora is about our invaluable partners providing targeted wraparound services to our people for long-term sustainability in a holistic way. Understanding the impact of a policy and a service, or understanding the impact of a new initiative means comprehending the change and value that commissioning is creating in the community.
Social Return on Investment (SROI) represents a tool that enables us to measure this impact, revealing change through the measurement of value. It brings us even closer to communities and whānau so that we can gain a clearer understanding of what changes whānau value most.
We are constantly striving to empower whānau by creating opportunities and innovative ways to achieve outcomes and SROI allows us to align our investments to achieve these goals. To deliver to whānau what they really need, when they need it and in an attainable way with our unwavering support and guidance.
That is what Whānau Ora is all about, by Māori, for Māori, to Māori.
