Ngāti Toa Rangatira and Te Āti Awa have formed a partnership board to work with the Māori Health Authority and Health NZ.
Āti Awa Toa Hauora Partnership Board will focus on improving the health and wellbeing of all Māori who live in the Porirua, Wellington and Hutt Valley regions
Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira chief executive Helmut Modlik says the iwi welcomed yesterday’s announcement, the region is one of nine selected to trial new locality-based ways of delivering health services.
The rūnanga and Ora Toa Health Services will partner with Tū Ora PHO and other local health providers to identify the needs of the community and how health services can be better coordinated.
