The Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra will celebrate Matariki with one of the brightest stars of New Zealand music.
Rob Ruha will join the APO on stage on June 23 for Haka Soul, featuring epic waiata such as ‘I Te Pō’, and soulful grooves including ‘Ka Mānu’ and ‘Kalega’.
He’ll be joined by rangatahi choir Ka Hao, whose song 35 has become a viral TikTok superhit.
Ruha and his wife Cilla brought together Ka Hao for the 2019 Te Tairāwhiti Arts Festival and they have gone on to win two Aotearoa music awards.
35, named for State Highway 35 through the East Cape, is ‘that New Zealand song’ which now has 12 million TikTok views worldwide and growing.
