Former New Zealand women’s rugby and touch rugby representative Merewaakana Kingi will join the ASB Bank board as an observer under the Institute of Directors’ Future Director programme.
Ms Kingi is acting group chief financial officer for Ngāti Awa Group Holdings, and she has also served as a director for private and risk advisory with accounting firm Deloitte.
ASB chair Dame Therese Walsh says Ms Kingi brings strong corporate experience and a high-performance background, and the board looks forward to her bringing fresh perspectives.
ASB Bank also appointed Callaghan Innovation chief executive one time Auckland mayoral candidate Vic Crone to the board.
