New CEO for Manukau Urban Māori Authority


The new chief executive of Manukau Urban Māori Authority says her work on various treaty claims will be a help in the role.
Tania Rangiheuea has been an academic and led the school and early childhood centre at Ngā Whare Waatea Marae in Mangere.
She’s also worked as a researcher and negotiator on her own tribal claims for Tūhourangi and Ngāti Awa as well as the Mana Wahine Claim.
Manukau Urban Māori Authority works extensively in the justice and welfare sectors as well a running its kura and media operations, and it’s looking at expanding its activities in housing and health, including setting up a GP service.
