Māori vaccinations at 82 %

The Māori vaccination rate is now running 10 percentage points behind the general rate for first doses and a whopping 18 percentage points for full vaccination.
There were 40,972 total doses administered yesterday, including 6,213 first doses and 11,862 second doses.
To date, 92 percent of eligible people in New Zealand have had their first dose and 86 percent are fully vaccinated.
For Māori, those percentages are 82 percent and 68 percent.
The country moves into the traffic light system on Friday, when many restrictions will be eased on vaccinated people but will be imposed on unvaccinated people, with many shops already carrying signs that only double-vaccinated people will be admitted.
