The Council of Trade Unions says essential workers deserve a pay rise for their work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
It’s calling on Government to raise the Minimum Wage to the Living Wage rate of $22.75 an hour.
President Richard Wagstaff says it would also be good for the economy, because when essential workers get a pay rise, they spend it in their community, supporting local businesses, getting the car repaired, and taking the kids out for dinner.
