Retail dollar can help Māori business
As restrictions on Auckland retailers ease, a Māori business network is urging whānau to seek out Māori vendors.
Whāriki chair Heta Hudson says despite being able to let masked up customers through their doors, many small businesses will still be doing it tough.
He’s urging people to consult Whāriki’s list of 350 Māori businesses.
“If you are going to spend some pūtea then definitely seek out and try and find those Māori vendors, suppliers as much as you possibly can because that money is going directly to putting kai on the table for a Māori whānau,” Mr Hudson says.
