Entrepreneur aims to clean up

A Māori entrepreneur aims to wipe out a trillion wet wipes by 2025.
Billie Jo Hohepa-Ropiha has created a skin-friendly foam that turns toilet paper into a fully disposable wet wipe when you spray it on.
While she’s picking up a customer base across Australasia through online and supermarket sales of her BDÉT Foam Wash, the key to growth could be councils, which have a vested interest in keeping wet wipes out of their sewage systems.
“There’s a lot of campaigns out there saying please don’t flush them but when you have illnesses or you have issues with anything down below and wet wipes work you are going to use them and flush them down the toilet, and that is why we would love to collaborate with councils and get the message out there,” she says.
Billie Jo Hohepa-Ropiha also markets a hands-free toilet seat lifter under her Kiwee brand.
