Māori business heads tapped for fish company
Former Kono chief executive Rachel Taulelei has been appointed chair of Māori fisheries settlement company Aotearoa Fisheries, trading as Moana New Zealand.
Ms Taulelei, who was previously on the board from 2015 to 2018, founded seafood company Yellow Brick Road in 2006 after serving as North American trade commissioner for New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.
Te Ohu Kaimoana chair Rangimarie Hunia also joins the Moana board as a director.
They replace retiring chair Hinerangi Raumati-Tu’ua, who has been on the board for nine years, and Jason Witehira, who resigned after one three year term to concentrate on his new supermarket venture.
