Marae prizes to drive Whaingaroa vaccinations

Get vaccinated and help your marae.
That’s the message from Te Rūnanga o Whaingaroa as it tries to get people in the far north community protected from COVID-19.
Chief executive Bree Davis says it’s aiming for 80 percent coverage by December, doubling the current number.
As an incentive, people getting the jab can nominate one of the 17 marae in the Whaingaroa rohe for $18,000 in prizes, including an $8,000 ride-on lawn mower or a water tank installation, a $6,000 wāhi tapu shed and utilities package, and a $4,000 mattress and linen package.
The prizes will be drawn on December 10.
