Lockdown moves south to stop spread
The Waikato level 3 boundary will move south at midnight to encompass Waitomo and Ōtorohanga districts, in response to Covid 19 cases in Kāwhia and Karāpiro.
It means Hamilton Airport now comes within the restricted area.
There were 29 new community cases reported today, 24 in Auckland and five in Waikato.
That brings the total number of cases in Waikato to 22 and the total in the Delta outbreak to 1448.
Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins said the Waikato boundary is the conventional alert level 3, not the current restrictions in Auckland.
It will be reviewed next Monday.
The Auckland City Mission service centre was considered a location of interest after a person who received a food pack on October 4 tested positive.
