Papakura ready for street battle on Covid
Papakura Marae is preparing to knock on doors to get up the vaccination count.
Chief executive Tony Kake says the easing in lockdown restrictions means it can get teams out on the streets to try some different approaches.
He’s treating it like an election campaign.
“Knocking on doors, we’re hoping to get the data, the heat maps which will identify which streets, which whānau are yet to receive their first or second vaccines, and then knocking on doors and having the conversation,” Mr Kake says.
The teams may have some rangatahi in tow as they try to overcome some of the hesitation among young people.
