Vax vans proving effective

The coordinator of Waipareira’s new vax vans hopes a loosening of lockdown rules will increase the number of people coming out for a jab.
From midnight Aucklanders will be able to stretch their household bubbles for an outside gathering with one other household at a time.
Rogere Te Whero says people like to get their shots in the sunshine.
“Maybe with them being out in the parks and stuff we will be able to target them there. We’ve got one van that is mobile in the streets of Henderson so if people are going to be out, it is possible that van could target those who are out,” she says.
The van administered 75 doses yesterday while parked off Henderson Valley, with whānau saying the fact it was in their back yard was compelling.
There are new community cases of Covid 19 today, 18 in Auckland and 6 in Waikato.
Seven of the Auckland cases have yet to be linked to an existing case.
