Awanuiārangi lures top name professors with new chairs
Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi has appointed three professors to new positions.
Professor Linda Tuhiwai Smith will become Distinguished Professor – Rangahau and Mātauranga Capability at the Wānanga.’
Sir William Te Rangiua “Pou” Temara, is Professor of Māori Philosophy; and Dr Alison Green becomes Professor in the School of Indigenous Graduate Studies.
Chief executive Officer, Wiremu Doherty says Sir Pou is an expert in Te Reo Māori, Tikanga Māori and Philosophy and a distinguished cultural authority on whaikōrero, whakapapa, and karakia.
Professor Smith has played a critical role in advancing the thought of leadership capabilities of indigenous peoples worldwide and contributes extensively to the research community in Aotearoa.
