Community clinics keep keen eye on Covid supplies
The manager of Manurewa’s Whānau Ora Community Clinic is relieved supplies of the Covid-19 vaccine are holding up despite the high demand.
Since the start of the current delta outbreak George Ngatai has seen more Māori showing up to be vaccinated at his clinics, as well as better numbers at Manurewa and Papakura marae.
“One of the key challenges is we have the numbers of people living in south Auckland and Auckland wide and our job is to ensure sure we have the resources to be able to test, to be able to vaccinate so it will reduce the number of Covid transmissions likely to happen in the community,” he says.
