Pattern of covid spread emerging

There were 68 new community cases of COVID-19 confirmed today.
This brings the total number of cases in the community outbreak to 277, with one of yesterday’s cases reclassified as a false positive.
The total number of community cases in Auckland is now 263 and in Wellington it is 14.
The two new Wellington cases are household contacts of a current case and were in isolation during their infectious period.
Fifteen of the current community cases are in a stable condition in hospital, but there are no cases in ICU.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says of the cases logged yesterday there were only three new exposure events, showing how lockdown is slowing the spread.
Forty seven percent of cases were in households where there is already someone infected, confirming what is known of the delta variant, and of the almost 500 locations on interest, only 13 have been linked to new cases.
There are now more than 24,000 close contacts , of whom more than 65 percent have been reached and are self-isolating.
Yesterday there were a record 87,772 doses of vaccine administered, meaning more than 3 million jabs since the start of the campaign.
Some 270,000 bookings were made yesterday as the campaign opened up to 30 plus.
