Portrait purge exposes party priorities
Greens co-leader Marama Davidson says National’s outrage at the removal of a portrait of British war leader Winston Churchill shows how out of step Judith Collins’ priorities are.
She says the Greens were just moving some furniture, so they were surprised when the National Party leader tweeted her outrage – just after telling her party conference she was going to focus on the big issues.
"Winston Churchill, you know – whatever. We want to put up artists, creatives from Aotearoa and something that depicts more with what the Greens align with, right in our part of the building, so it's a bit ridiculous but I think it confirms how ridiculous a leader she is," Ms Davidson says.
