Big builds start at Ruakura Superhub

Tainui Group Holdings has picked industrial and commercial construction specialists Calder Stewart to build the first major commercial structure in the Ruakura Superhub.
The 5000 square metre regional hub for PBT Express Freight Network will include a 2,800 sqm enclosed logistics facility, a loading canopy and office.
They are expected to be completed in June 2022 and be operational by August 2022.
Work will also start this month on two critical link roads within the superhub, one providing access to the 30-hectare inland port and the other connecting to the new Ruakura interchange for the Waikato Expressway which opens mid-2022.
The two new roads will be built by Hamilton-based civil engineering company Cambridge Construction.
TGH chief executive Chris Joblin having projects delivered by companies which are significant employers in the Waikato means that Waikato-Tainui investment will have significant flow on effects in local communities.
He says TGH will work with its delivery partners to create business and employment opportunities for iwi members.
