Maori Battalion history resource launched

A new resource will help the next generation learn about the history of the Māori Battalion.
It has been developed by the Ngarimu VC and 28th (Māori) Battalion Scholarship Board to fit within the social studies and Aotearoa New Zealand history sections of the curriculum.
Associate Education Minister Kelvin Davis says it’s part of a shift towards an education system that gives Māori authority over education for Māori.
He says it creates a meaningful, tailored curriculum resource that allows ākonga Māori, ngā rangatira mo āpōpō to see themselves and to see their ancestors in their learning.
