More caution urged as Covid test results trickle in

A Māori and public health expert believes the level 2 restrictions in the weekend should be extended until the weekend.
The restrictions were extended to 11.59pm Tuesday, but Dr Matire Harwood says the fact it was extended at all indicates the Government may have more concerns than it is letting on about the current risk.
An Australian couple who visited Wellington the previous weekend have now both tested positive for Covid-19.
Dr Harwood says even though no community cases have been detected here, the change in weather means the risk of transmission has increased.
"In terms of doing things better I do wonder if we do need to extend it perhaps to the weekend and I know that is really frustrating for people but we know that it is that 2 week time difference from when a person tests positive to when we know we are in safety and that the Covid isn't infecting other people," she says.
The travel bubble with Australia has been suspended for three days as authorities there struggle to contain the disease, with separate outbreaks in four states and the Northern Territory.
