Three new Ngarimu scholarships have been created for Māori in vocational education and training.
Associate Education Minister Kelvin Davis says vocational learners have less access to study support than university students.
Given the number of Māori students participating in vocational programmes, it makes sense to find ways to support their study.
Since 1948, the Ngarimu scholarships have supported Māori to succeed in education and to contribute as leaders in New Zealand and overseas.
Applications for the $10,000 Ngarimu VET Scholarships close on September 1.
