UNDRIP consequences unacceptable to Collins

National Party leader Judith Collins says the He Puapua report goes too far for National’s bottom lines.
She has criticised the Government for failing to say what it is going to do with the report, which was prepared as independent advice on what needed to be done to comply with the United National Declaration of indigenous Rights which National signed New Zealand up to.
She says the report went too far with its discussion of a Māori parliament and the ownership of natural resources.
"These are not things the New Zealand public has been properly talked through and what it is they want to do because there are some things that are absolutely bottom line for National and they are things like one person, one right, democracy, the rule of law, one standard of citizenship," Ms Collins says.
