Nohoaka Pakihi entree to entrepreneurship

Rangatahi with an interest in business are this week learning from leading Māori entrepreneurs like Animation Research boss Sir Ian Taylor at a new Māori business boot camp.
Nohoaka Pakihi has been organised by Te Kura Pakihi, the University of Otago’s business school.
Isabel Dunnett-Welch from Napier Girls High School says studying at the University Otago has been a long-held ambition, so it’s great to get a sneak peek at the Dunedin campus.
Her initial though was to create a business around women’s health, but she says the messages coming from the wānanga are that there are many paths to success.
"You can do anything you want to and as long as you follow your passion it is highly likely you can succeed and pursue your dreams, so it has taught us about skills sets like having the confidence within our own culture and identity to be ourselves in the entrepreneurial field, Ms Dunnett-Welch says.
