Seymour seeks to cancel white privilege talk
ACT leader David Seymour has ramped up his attack on programmes to address racism in schools.
He today took Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern to task for denying the words ‘white privilege’ are used anywhere in New Zealand's education curriculum.
He says in fact they do feature in the blueprint for Te Hurihanganui, a professional development programme to make teachers more aware that how they teach affects their students, and in supporting documents for the Māori education strategy, Ka Hikitia.
Mr Seymour says discussion of white privilege is a way of dividing children.
