Family Planning says it is appalled, but not surprised, at sexist and racist comments on Minister Kiritapu Allan’s social media feed.

Then comments were made to posts from the East Coast MP about her treatment for cervical cancer.

Family Planning chief executive Jackie Edmond says while men’s behaviour around sexual and reproductive health is positively acknowledged, women are criticised, blamed and shamed.

She says such attitudes might deter women coming forward for health care and treatment.
